About The Position

Lerner Tower 6 is a 30-bed Adult Surgical inpatient division providing care to orthopedic, neurological spine, surgery, and trauma patients. The unit is recognized for its care of Total Joint Replacement patients and as a Center of Excellence for spine patients, including the travel program. At University Hospitals, nurses are front-line caregivers who expertly blend compassion with advanced knowledge, technical skills, and professional integrity when caring for patients of all ages.

Requirements

• 1 year of RN experience required
• Registered nurse with current license to practice in the state of Ohio.
• Current BLS Provider Certification, issued by the American Heart Association, must be obtained during Nursing Orientation
• Thorough knowledge of nursing process and practice.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• Refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation for specific duties and responsibilities.
• Abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
• Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies (ie. Stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices.
• Demonstrates a professional demeanor when responding to patients.
