Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in Oklahoma.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support is required within six months of hire or upon signing a revised job description.

Nice To Haves

  • One year experience as a Registered Nurse in an operating room environment.
  • CNOR.

Responsibilities

  • Assessing, planning, implementing, evaluation, and documenting care activities in accordance with BMC and AORN standards in order to deliver efficient, effective, and quality patient care.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status, interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs.
  • Plan for the provision of patient care including the development modification and implementation of the plan of care in accordance with BMC standards in order to deliver efficient, effective and quality patient care as described in the Patient Care policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to and abide by the rules and regulations set forth by the Oklahoma Nursing Practice Act.
  • Willing to take call on a rotational basis and demonstrate teamwork and flexibility.
  • Supervise surgical technologists.
  • Delegate appropriate nursing tasks to other staff members based upon individual patient need and staff qualifications.
