About The Position

Olmsted Medical Center is seeking Registered Nurses (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) for Outpatient Urology positions. The center values its employees and offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package for those employed at 0.5 FTE or higher. Available positions include 0.6 FTE and 0.5 FTE, both for day shifts. Salary offers for external candidates are generally made between the minimum and 3/4 point of the stated range, based on experience.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing (LPN)
  • Current Minnesota LPN license required (LPN)
  • BLS certification (LPN & RN)
  • Completion of an accredited professional nursing program (RN)
  • Current Minnesota Registered Nurse license (RN)
  • ACLS certification (RN - Northwest Clinic and Hospital locations only including the departments of Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Acute Care, Cardiology, Pain Management, and Pediatrics)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous clinic experience (LPN)
  • Minimum of one year nursing experience (RN)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient assessments (focused for LPN, comprehensive for RN).
  • Report patient health status changes and responses to interventions to appropriate licensed healthcare providers.
  • Participate in the development, modification, and implementation of patient care plans.
  • Implement nursing interventions, including those delegated, ordered, or prescribed.
  • Assign and monitor nursing tasks to other licensed practical nurses or unlicensed assistive personnel (LPN).
  • Delegate nursing tasks or assign nursing activities (RN).
  • Provide safe and effective nursing care and promote a safe environment.
  • Advocate for the best interest of the patient.
  • Evaluate responses to interventions and the effectiveness of the plan of care.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide health education and information to patients.
  • Contribute to the development of healthcare policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Maintain OMC Organization and Nursing Competencies.
  • Manage information in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Manage, supervise, and evaluate the practice of nursing (RN).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
