About The Position

This position involves providing nursing care and assisting with medical and clerical duties within a clinic setting. The role requires collaboration with other clinic staff to ensure efficient patient care and maintain a high standard of service. The individual will be responsible for patient interviews, documentation, patient education, specimen handling, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and equipment. Back-up support for front desk personnel, including answering phones and scheduling appointments, may also be required.

  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Upon Hire or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) Upon Hire or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) Upon Hire or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Medical Technologists (AMT) Upon Hire or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) - National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) Upon Hire
  • An active license in the state of practice if required upon hire (for LPN).

Responsibilities

  • Assists in care to patients as directed by provider based on competency.
  • Provides accurate, completed, legible and timely documentation of all patient procedures in the medical record.
  • Maintains timely flow of patients.
  • Instructs patients in collection of samples and tests.
  • Responsible for assisting with patient and family education to include procedures, medication use, nutrition, disease processes, and maintenance of health and wellness, etc., based on competency.
  • Greets patients and conducts clinical interview collecting history and vital signs.
  • Labels and processes lab specimens according to lab procedures.
  • Maintains exam room for necessary supplies and materials.
  • Performs daily and weekly environmental cleaning and equipment quality control and maintenance.
  • Cleans and sterilizes medical equipment according to policy.
  • Follows correct procedures for handling and disposing of bio-hazardous infectious waste.
  • Provided back-up help for front desk personnel. This may include answering telephone, scheduling and cancelling appointments, and scheduling consult patients.
