About The Position

This position delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment. The role involves identifying and determining the priority of patient's problems/needs, and evaluating the process and outcome of nursing care. It also includes coordinating and providing patient teaching activities and coordinating the care provided by health team members. In collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team, the role conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzes assessment data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates treatment effectiveness. The position also serves as a point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments and acts as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department. The role integrates the professional practice model into care delivery.

Requirements

Minimum 1 year RN experience.
Knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and future innovations.
Nursing judgment and skill based on principles of the biological, physical, behavioral, and social sciences.
Application of the nursing process in patient care delivery.
Coordination of patient care delivery.
Evaluation of professional nursing practice to optimize goals and outcomes.
Health teaching and health promotion.

BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (required at hire for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH).
Valid nursing license from the state of practice (required).
Associate of Nursing, nursing (required) OR Diploma in Nursing (required).
Graduate of accredited school of cardiovascular science, or Graduate from accredited school of Radiologic Technology (RT), or Meets education provisions required to obtain RCIS through CCI and SC Board of Medical Examiners and has already received those credentials.
Minimum amount of experience to get required licensure/certifications/registrations outlined below is required.
Must maintain active Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Registration with the SC Board of Medical Examiners.
Must maintain active RCIS certification through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
Must maintain active American Heart Association BLS and ACLS for Healthcare Provider.
RTs must also be registered in Radiologic Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART).
