As a member of the Health Support Center (HSC) team, you’ll support those that are in our facilities who are interfacing and providing care to our patients and community members to positively impact our mission of making communities healthier ®. Our Surgical Suite features a 9-room unit supporting a wide range of specialties performed daily, offering a dynamic and fast-paced environment for growth. Requirements
- Graduate of a professional school of Nursing.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse from the Virginia State Board of Nursing or a Compact State.
- Basic Life Support certification is required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in acute care hospital setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provides intraoperative and postoperative nursing care.
- Safely and adequately provides and utilizes equipment and supplies based on unique patient need.
- Uses electronic nursing documentation for charging patient supplies per department policy and procedure.
- Evaluates patient outcomes.
- Documents patient care given.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Assesses the physiological and psychosocial needs of the patient and works as an advocate for the physical and emotional wellbeing of the patient.
