Registered Nurse (RN) Operating Room Weekends
About The Position
This is a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) position in the Operating Room at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI. The role is specifically for experienced Operating Room Nurses and focuses on weekend shifts. The nurse will be the patient's advocate during surgery, working collaboratively with a team of surgeons, clinicians, anesthesiologists, and technicians. The position emphasizes providing comprehensive patient care using the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and clinical decision-making to ensure patient safety and a positive experience. The primary role will be as a circulator, which includes performing time outs, positioning patients, maintaining a sterile and safe environment, preparing the OR with supplies, managing inventory, and documenting procedures.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- 1-2 years OR experience needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process.
- Deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Utilize evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and communication skills.
- Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience.
- Perform the circulator role in the Operating Room, including time outs, patient positioning, maintaining a sterile and safe environment, preparing the OR with necessary supplies, checking inventory, and documenting all aspects of the procedure.
