About The Position

This role involves collaborating with a surgical team to ensure patient safety during operations, acting as a clinical liaison to staff, surgeons, and vendors, and promoting engagement through open communication. The specialist will organize meetings, communicate product and service information, and complete special projects. Additionally, they will actively participate in training, orientation, and mentoring of staff, facilitating education on service line clinical, administrative, legal, and financial requirements. The role also includes maintaining par levels for special equipment and supply orders specific to the service line, ensuring accurate and timely charges for surgeon preference cards, and coordinating capital and non-capital budget needs with the clinical manager. The specialist will also attend and participate in clinical facilitator meetings.

Requirements

  • 1 Year perioperative services and circulating and/or scrubbing experience
  • RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • OR Circulating - Collaborates with other team members (including anesthesiologist, surgeon, surgical technologist, etc) to ensure the safety of patients during the operation.
  • Serves as clinical liaison to staff, surgeons and vendors.
  • Promotes engagement through open lines of communication.
  • Organizes face-to-face meetings as needed.
  • Communicates products and services.
  • Completes special projects and events as needed.
  • Actively participates in training, orientation and mentoring of staff members while facilitating education on service line clinical, administrative, legal and financial requirements.
