About The Position

Join our team as a day shift, full-time, Outpatient Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) in Tyler, TX. UT Health Tyler is the flagship hospital of the system serving hundreds of thousands annually. Specializing in advanced acute care medicine, our midtown location boasts a Level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, the region’s only EMCO program and a Level III NICU. Our medical staff includes more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Requirements

Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Must maintain current Texas RN License
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care

Nice To Haves

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certified
Wound and ostomy experience
Certification by the WOCN or working toward certification

Responsibilities

Provide excellence in prevention, health maintenance, therapeutic intervention, and rehabilitative nursing care to select patients, incorporating a unique body of knowledge as a multifaceted, evidence-based, registered nurse specialty.
Encompass all patient populations across the continuum of care within this complex, interdependent nursing specialty.
Direct efforts at guiding optimal patient care that improves the quality of life for individuals with wound, ostomy, and continence concerns, achieving positive clinical outcomes though its unique scope of practice.
Demonstrate experience in specific areas of clinical practice further developed though specialty certification.
Utilize the nursing process in the following major areas: practice, education, consultation, research, and admission.
