About The Position

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Medical Oncology and Infusion Center. This is a full-time, day shift position in Charlottesville, VA, Monday to Friday, with no nights or weekends. The hours are typically 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with some variation for business needs. A sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 is available for qualified candidates. The Sentara Martha Jefferson Infusion Center provides a pleasant, professional atmosphere for patients receiving intravenous infusions and therapeutic injections. Our oncology-certified nurses are skilled in administering chemotherapy, biological therapies, supportive blood transfusions for cancer, and various infusions for non-cancer patients. This role will focus on Hem Oncology and Infusion. The Infusion Center has 25 chairs, serves approximately 14,000 provider visits and 17,000 infusion visits annually, for both oncology and non-oncology patients. Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is a Magnet status facility with a low RN turnover rate and high patient satisfaction scores.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing required.
  • Registered Nurse Licensure.
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire.
  • ONC certified RN preferred.
  • 2 years of acute nursing preferred.
  • Oncology Nursing experience preferred.
  • Cancer experience preferred.
  • Infusion experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation).
  • Adhere to standards of professional performance including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
  • Administer chemotherapy, biological therapies, supportive blood transfusions, and various infusions.
  • Provide care in the Medical Oncology and Infusion Center, focusing on Hem Oncology and Infusion.
