This is a full-time position, scheduled 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm no call and no weekends. This RN role is a pivotal part of patient care at our Cancer Center. The RN coordinator is the focal point to the path between the interdisciplinary team and the patient. Daily routines include: Patient communication, education and triage Coordination of patient-physician visits, to include inpatient treatments Addressing medication needs, interpreting lab values and pathology Knowing treatment regimens, nursing indications and understanding adverse reactions Building a relationship with the physician and other key players of the oncology team Assisting pediatric and adult patients for radiation treatments under sedation. POSITION SUMMARY This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
