Requirements

Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN, MSN preferred.
State of Massachusetts RN licensure
BLS Certification
ACLS
PALS
AVADE - Training will be given to staff member if not presently trained.
Minimum of 5 years nursing experience in a hospital setting.
Progressive clinical and supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

When appropriate, communicates areas of improvement to Department Director(s) and/or Chief Nursing Officer.
Acts as a resource for nursing staff for clinical concerns. Resource can demonstrate, educate, recommend as needed.
Monitors and assigns placement of new admissions and transfers during shift.
Monitors all activity throughout the hospital during a given shift, is aware of all critical patient situations and ensures appropriate resources for care as assigned.
Maintains safe and appropriate staffing levels in compliance with staffing policies.
Staffs units appropriate labor hr/stat for a given unit.
Identifies and resolves interpersonal and/or professional conflicts that may occur when dealing with other members of the hospital team.
Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of budget management as it relates to staffing, overtime, and supplies.
Provides appropriate written justification for budget/staffing variances.
