Our 36-bed Behavioral Health Unit provides a comprehensive continuum of inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services. The Registered Nurse (RN) Nurse Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, regulatory standards, and quality patient care initiatives. This leader directs and oversees patient care delivery within the assigned scope, promoting a safe, therapeutic, and high-quality environment for patients experiencing acute behavioral health needs. In this role you will foster a collaborative, team-focused culture, promote communication, staff development, clinical excellence, and continuity of care while maintaining compliance with organizational policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree required.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Previous Behavioral Health Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of Leadership experience required

Responsibilities

  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
  • Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management.
  • Performs and oversees scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
  • Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations.
  • Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/ supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.
  • Assesses the quality of patient care delivered and coordinates patient care services with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments.
  • May provide patient care when necessary.
  • Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
  • Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
