St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Nurse Manager position for the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) & Cardiac Short Stay Unit (CSSU) located within the Edgewood, Kentucky hospital. Shift & Hours: 1st shift; Full-time, 40 hours weekly. The best career is right here. Has 24/7 responsibility for leadership and management functions of an operational business unit (s). Demonstrate the ability to manage a diverse work team to accomplish the strategic plan of the organization. Responsible for the delivery of evidence-based quality patient care and managing the daily operations of a business unit, including staffing, budget, supplies, equipment, and physician relations. Responsible for hiring, evaluating, and maintaining competent staff to serve patient needs in a busy, fast-paced environment. Provide direct patient care as required. Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in interactions with all patients, families, visitors and other associates.

Requirements

  • BSN, Graduate of accredited School of Nursing.
  • If eligible, must have a Compact (multi-state) License in their primary state of residence.
  • Licensed to practice nursing in the state where work is being performed.
  • Meets contact hours requirements for Licensure, including all state-required courses.
  • Ability to direct self and others and interpret nursing Policies and Procedures and standards.
  • Knowledge of Management theory.
  • Demonstrates application of Leadership concepts.
  • Clinical expertise relevant.
  • 3 years nursing experience; experience relevant to the specific clinical area including: experience as Assistant Nurse Manager or equivalent position and experience with staffing/scheduling and managing a unit/department budget.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s in nursing or health care related field.
  • Certification in their specialty and/or nurse executive.
  • Ability to interface designated clinical area with the institution’s mission, goals and objectives as it relates to organizational structure and process.
  • Previous experience as Nurse Manager.
  • Budget experience and ability to function as a change agent.
