About The Position

Bring your peri-anesthesia expertise to a highly specialized nursing role where vigilant assessment, clinical judgment, and compassionate communication directly support safe procedural care for pediatric and adult patients. As a Registered Nurse with UVA Health’s Non-OR Anesthesia Nursing Team, you will guide patients through the full anesthesia experience in procedural settings outside the operating room. Based at University Hospital, this role combines focused pre-procedure preparation, intra-procedure collaboration, and post-anesthesia recovery across Radiology and Brachytherapy at the Cancer Center. This full-time opportunity offers service coverage Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., with no weekends, holidays, or call requirements. For an experienced RN seeking complex clinical practice with a predictable weekday schedule, this position offers a compelling combination of specialization, collaboration, and work-life balance. This is an opportunity to practice comprehensive peri-anesthesia nursing in a dynamic environment serving patients undergoing imaging, procedures, and treatments that require anesthesia. You will work closely with anesthesiologists, radiologists, and interdisciplinary colleagues while providing continuity, reassurance, and precise clinical oversight throughout the patient journey. The team cares for both pediatric and adult populations, with significant pediatric exposure representing approximately 75% of the patient population. The successful nurse will bring strong assessment skills, confidence in procedural or recovery environments, and the ability to adapt communication and care to patients across the lifespan. UVA Health offers the clinical depth and professional resources of an integrated academic health system, where nurses contribute alongside physicians, faculty, researchers, students, and other healthcare professionals.
