About The Position

Gulfport Behavioral Health System, a UHS facility, is a 92-bed psychiatric hospital offering child, adolescent, adult and military service behavioral health programs and treatment services. The Staff Nurse (RN) is a registered professional nurse who prescribes, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices. Opportunities to work with various patient populations including children, adolescents and adults. Our nurses work 12 hour shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a) with some rotating weekends. Walk-In Wednesdays - Interviews for RNs on Wednesday from 9am-12pm.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required.
Currently licensed to practice by the Mississippi State Board of Nursing.
Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications.
CPR certification and CPI certification (Management of Aggressive Behavior) including restraint and seclusion policies, within 90 days of employment, and prior to assisting in restraining procedures.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree preferred.
A minimum of one (1) year experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.
