The Aurora Medical Center Summit NICU features 6 semi-private rooms and 1 isolation room, providing care for newborn patients born at 32 weeks gestation and above. This includes infants weighing 1500g or more with physiologic immaturity or moderate illnesses expected to resolve rapidly, not requiring urgent subspecialty services. The role also involves providing mechanical ventilation for brief durations (less than 24 hours) or continuous positive airway pressure. As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. This involves using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skilled communication to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum. Aurora Medical Center – Summit is a 117-bed facility staffed by over 260 nurses, offering a dynamic and rewarding environment.
