The Women & Children Resource Pool consists of 3 subset teams known as “Pods” (Labor & Delivery Pod, NICU Pod, and Mother Baby/Pediatric/Step Down NICU Pod). The team works within the Women & Children service areas of Northeast Georgia Healthcare System and will report to our Gainesville, Braselton, and/or Demorest (Habersham) locations. Each “pod” is specialized according to patient population and requires 2 years of RN experience specific to specialty of the pod. This role is for a capable clinician with previous specialty experience preferred, focused on expanding knowledge and skills. The clinician consistently provides effective direct care as part of the interdisciplinary team to a variety of complex patients. They seek as well as provide feedback for improved clinical practice and assume a beginning clinical bedside leadership role, seeking mentoring in this process. The role participates as a member on PNGC councils and Nursing Quality Teams as appropriate and actively participates on Unit Council helping with plans to improve NDNQI nursing sensitive indicators, RN Satisfaction, Employee Engagement, Culture of Safety, and Patient Experience data. The role works together with other care team members to recruit and retain an excellent nursing care team. For the new graduate clinical RN, the focus is primarily on developing knowledge and skills and showing growth in ability to care for increasingly complex patients. The role is responsible for providing direct and safe patient care based on the nursing process, and for coordinating care for assigned patients on a shift to promote the achievement of clinical outcomes. Consultation with more experienced clinicians is required, and feedback is accepted as a constructive professional development tool.
