Registered Nurse (RN) New Grad Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. Fulltime: Nights. $20,000 Sign on bonus eligible. Schedule: 3 12 hours shifts. Requirements

• Current state RN license
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS required
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be competent in EKG/dysrhythmia recognition, competent in care of the open heart/vascular/thoracic patient (> 12 hours post procedure), patients s/p cardiac intervention (sheath management), internal and external pacemakers, vasoactive medications, central lines, and respiratory compromise.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support need.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Adherence to all core measure initiatives, patient safety goals, and NQF Safe Practices.
