The Neuro Progressive Care Unit provides care to a patient population with neuro related injuries and pre- and post-surgical patients requiring specialized monitoring and interventions, including seizures, epilepsy and brain tumors. Cares for patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring, management of chest tubes, vent and tracheostomy care, wound/skin care, titration of insulin drips for patients with diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) diagnosis, respiratory compromised patients that require specialized equipment including continuous respiratory interventions, multi-system organ failure, respiratory distress, sepsis, hematology, GI Bleeds, Renal/Liver Failure, Acid-Base and Electrolyte Imbalances, and cardiac abnormalities. This is a MAGNET facility, a Level I Trauma Center, and a Certified comprehensive stroke center. The department prides itself in high performing staff with excellent critical thinking skills.
