About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) position on the Med-Surg Neuro Telemetry Unit at Memorial Regional Medical Center focuses on providing care to patients with primary diagnoses including post-stroke, TIA, encephalopathy, altered mental status, and seizure disorders. This role is considered a great entry point for developing time management and enhancing nursing skills, and it includes providing NIH stroke certification. The Med-Surg RN is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care by utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, providing care to patients with medical and surgical diagnoses, implementing clinical nursing interventions, possessing a diverse medical skillset, developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes, and ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment.
Requirements
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- One year of RN experience (required)
- BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care; ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support acceptable in lieu of BLS)
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (preferred)
- Six months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
- Collect vital signs, administer IV medications, understand charting and assess patient condition
- Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes
- Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and Mercy Health policies and procedures
