Registered Nurse (RN) - Neuro Surgical ICU
About The Position
Hartford Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) for its Neuro-Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This 17-bed adult inpatient unit specializes in caring for critically ill neuroscience and neurosurgical patients, including those with stroke, head and spinal cord trauma, and brain hemorrhage. The role requires nurses proficient in monitoring intracranial pressures, brain tissue oxygenation, and hemodynamic monitoring, while also maintaining a family-centered approach. Collaboration with neuro-intensivists, Physician Assistants, and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses is essential for providing the highest quality of care. In critical care, nurses are expected to be highly skilled and trained, contributing expertise at the bedside with a team-based mentality, adhering to Hartford Healthcare's values of Safety, Excellence, Integrity, and Caring.
Requirements
- Current Connecticut RN License.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN Required).
- BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
- ACLS certification.
- Proof of Arrhythmia Certification required prior to date of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum one year Acute Care RN experience strongly preferred.
- In exceptional circumstances, experienced ASN/ADN nurses currently in pursuit of a BSN or MSN may be considered.
Responsibilities
