More about our team Registered Nurse for our 24-bed ortho/neuro/pediatric medical and surgical unit in the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Patient and team-focused employees that collaborate well and treat others professionally. RNs become PALS and ENPC certified to care for our pediatric patients as well as charge nurse, preceptor, and Nurse Fellow program opportunities.

Requirements

• Current Michigan RN license
• Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school
• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (within 1 year)
• Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) (within 1 year)

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
