Registered Nurse (RN) Neonatal ICU (NICU) - Full-Time Nights
About The Position
Registered Nurse (RN) Full-Time Nights – NICU for Texas Health Alliance. Work location: Texas Health Alliance, 10864 Texas Health Trail, Fort Worth, TX 76244. Work hours: Full-time nights, 36 hours weekly, 3-12 hours shifts, 7:00 pm – 7:00 am. The NICU Unit is an 8-bed Neonatal ICU unit – Level III, caring for patients from 25-weeks’ gestation on up, utilizing CPAP, Bubble CPAP, Vents, and Jets. Nurses may float to assist with Mother/baby Unit and work with feeders & growers. The unit is part of the Texas 10-Step Program. Texas Health Alliance is a 151-bed, full-service hospital serving our community since 2012. We’re Joint Commission-accredited with a Level III neonatal intensive care unit. Plus, we’re a Baby Friendly Facility and Pathways to Excellence designated hospital. We are also a Joint Commission Acute Heart Attack Ready (AHAR) Disease specific certified. We provide wellness services, outpatient surgery and women’s imaging services and are a top choice in North Fort Worth for radiology services and much more.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing required
- RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
- NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 Days of hire
- NRPA-Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 Days of hire
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually within 90 Days of hire
- 1 Year Experience as a clinical nurse or completion of an RN residency program Req
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred
- 3 years of NICU level III experience strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
- Delivery of high quality of patient care through nursing education, nursing research and innovations in nursing practice.
