Registered Nurse (RN) MSICU Nights
About The Position
The Medical Surgical ICU at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for an experienced ICU RN to join their amazing team! This is for the Night Shift (3 x 12-hour shifts/week). The Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MSICU) at Inova Fairfax Hospital is an 18-bed adult unit. MSICU provides specialized, multidisciplinary care for critically ill adult patients with complex medical conditions requiring advanced monitoring and life-sustaining therapies. The MSICU manages a wide range of diagnoses including sepsis and septic shock, acute respiratory failure, ARDS, severe pneumonia, COPD and asthma exacerbations, diabetic emergencies, gastrointestinal bleeding, renal failure requiring dialysis, toxicologic overdoses, neurologic emergencies, and multisystem organ failure. The MSICU Highlights include 18 private rooms (all have patient lifts), EpicCare electronic medical record technology, Geriatric-sensitive color schemes and patterns, Patient/Family zones in patient rooms, larger patient room windows, 360-degree patient access in critical care rooms, and free Wi-Fi connectivity. Care needs of our patients may include, but are not limited to, patients requiring invasive hemodynamic and/or cardiac monitoring, intubation and mechanical ventilation, intravenous administration of vasoactive medications, conduction of medical and nursing research studies, and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT).
Requirements
- 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship.
- BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
- BLS for healthcare provider certification from AHA required.
- ACLS (must obtain within 6 months of hire).
- RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a RN
