About The Position

Hartford Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for its Medicine Intensive Care Unit (MICU). The MICU is a 16-bed unit that cares for patients with complex and highly acute medical issues, including respiratory failure, gastrointestinal bleeding, liver and kidney injury/failure, sepsis, and drug/alcohol withdrawal. The unit operates 24 hours a day and is staffed by a team of healthcare professionals including Physician Assistants, Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, and medical house staff physicians. The goal of the MICU is to develop staff into well-rounded, highly skilled medical professionals in a fast-paced environment that challenges critical thinking, medical knowledge, communication, and skillset. In Critical Care, RNs are highly skilled and trained to provide expertise and compassionate care at the bedside, working within a team-based mentality aligned with Hartford Healthcare's values of Safety, Excellence, Integrity, and Caring.

Requirements

Current Connecticut RN License.
Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN Required).
BLS certification by the American Heart Association required prior to date of hire.
Minimum one year acute care Registered Nurse experience strongly preferred.
In exceptional circumstances, experienced RNs with an ADN/ASN who are currently in pursuit of a BSN or MSN may be considered.
Graduate Nurses are encouraged to apply through the Critical Care Graduate Nurse Program.
