About The Position

Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia, is seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse for its Medical/Surgical units. This role supports diverse patient populations with a 4:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, working closely with the emergency department and other inpatient units to ensure timely admissions and exceptional patient outcomes. New graduate nurses are welcome, with a starting pay rate of $36.00/hour for those with less than one year of experience. The position involves approximately 36 hours per week, with a day shift.

Requirements

Registered Nurse
BLS within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation).
Uphold standards of professional performance including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
Possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
Support Medical/Surgical units, including surge areas and inpatient admissions.
Work closely with the emergency department and other inpatient units to ensure timely admissions, efficient throughput, and exceptional patient outcomes.
