Medical Respiratory Intensive Care Unit Located in Critical Care Hospital - 4th floor • 28-bed adult ICU, caring for complex medical and pulmonary patients, including post-codes, sepsis, GI bleeds, DKA, renal and liver failure, and those requiring various bedside procedures and advanced pulmonary and invasive interventions • Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:1 and 1:2, with charge nurse, unlicensed assistive personnel and unit secretary support 24/7 Our Medicine Units: • Practice evidence-based care for patients with complex medical and surgical diagnoses • Serve patients through the continuum of care • Provide 24-hour accessibility to hospitalists and teaching physician services • Offer access to multiple Watson rooms, a unique space for team members to practice mindfulness • Create a supportive and nurturing environment for experienced and new graduate nurses with an emphasis on work-life balance • Promote nursing autonomy, professional development and advancement • Deliver exceptional care through Interprofessional collaboration
