About The Position

Community Health Network is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join their Medical Oncology nursing team at the Carmel Cancer Center. This role is within the Community Health Network MD Anderson Cancer Center, a partnership that integrates Community's cancer services with MD Anderson Cancer Center, a global leader in cancer care. The Medical Oncology unit cares for a diverse patient population including medical, renal, and oncology patients. The unit supports professional growth and development, encourages self-care, and provides paid hands-on training for nurses interested in becoming chemo-certified Oncology nurses. The Oncology nurse will collaborate with outpatient cancer centers, providers, and a dedicated Oncology pharmacist.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (NLN, CCNE, ACEN, or NLN CNEA) OR three years of related professional nursing experience.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in the state of Indiana.
  • Minimum of 1-year inpatient RN experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Recent Oncology experience is strongly preferred.
  • Two years of ICU or Med/Surg experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to medical, renal, and oncology patients.
  • Collaborate with outpatient cancer centers, providers, and Oncology pharmacist.
  • Participate in paid hands-on training to become a chemo-certified Oncology nurse.
  • Foster a culture of self-care, care of each other, and care of patients and their families.
