About The Position

Our Medical Oncology Unit is a 26-bed adult medical hematology/oncology/gyne-oncology unit specializing in the treatment of hematology/oncology patients requiring chemotherapy and immunotherapy, as well as post-surgical care. Patients range from those that are newly diagnosed, to those with post chemotherapy symptom management and neutropenia. Patients on the unit may also require palliative care and/or hospice services. Overflow of general medicine patients are also admitted to the unit. Loyola University Medical Center is located approximately 30 minutes from Downtown Chicago! Requirements

A Degree from an accredited school/college of nursing is required - BSN or ADN
BLS Provider (accredited by the American Heart Association) required prior to hire
Illinois Board of Nursing license prior to hire

Responsibilities

Specializing in the treatment of hematology/oncology patients requiring chemotherapy and immunotherapy, as well as post-surgical care.
Caring for patients ranging from those that are newly diagnosed, to those with post chemotherapy symptom management and neutropenia.
Providing care for patients who may require palliative care and/or hospice services.
Admitting overflow of general medicine patients to the unit.
