About The Position

Glens Falls Hospital is seeking dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurses to join our team! This is an exciting and dynamic position. As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will cover patient care in CT, MRI, radiology, nuclear medicine, and ultrasound. You will work with a group of nurses and highly trained technologist to provide top-notch care. Critical skills for this candidate would be IV/vascular access abilities, responding to emergencies, and solid assessment skills. There is a weekend commitment one weekend every 9th weekend and some holiday coverage. You will be completing procedures such as biopsies, therefore ACLS is a must. The Medical imaging nurses also support our cardiac CT program as well as support cardiac devices in MRI, which includes monitoring. In this position, you will be an important member of the patient care team. The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for management and delivery of patient care to assigned patients in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, and within the scope of practice delineated in the New York State Nurse Practice Act. Provides direct patient care, delegates/assigns responsibility as appropriate to others, and serves as leader of the interdisciplinary team in collaboration with and under the direction of the attending physician. The patient care team identifies desired outcomes for each patient based on assessment data, and plan of care and completes ongoing assessments to facilitative achievement of desired outcomes.

Requirements

  • IV/vascular access abilities
  • Responding to emergencies
  • Solid assessment skills
  • ACLS is a must
  • Graduation from a Registered Professional Nursing Program.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Maintains competency in professional nursing practices
  • Knowledge of standard health care reporting measures required
  • Ability to recognize patient care problems and to react appropriately in patient care emergencies

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred; new hires will be required to complete their BSN within 5 years of hire (RNs with 20+ years of experience may be eligible to opt for certification completion rather than BSN).
