Requirements

  • Valid RN License in New Mexico or a recognized Compact State License, along with current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional nursing experience, preferably within a medical-surgical or acute care healthcare setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are highly desirable and will strengthen your application.
  • Strong interpersonal, critical-thinking, and organizational skills suited to the demands of a high-acuity healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams while maintaining professional composure under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to patients in the medical-surgical unit, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal clinical outcomes at all times.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and document changes in patient condition accurately and promptly in compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians and in accordance with established healthcare protocols and best practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams — including physicians, specialists, and allied health professionals — to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment plans, discharge instructions, and post-care management to promote recovery and well-being.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to changes in patient status, including emergency situations, applying clinical judgment and relevant life-support skills as required.
  • Maintain meticulous and accurate medical records and nursing documentation in line with institutional policies and healthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Uphold and promote a culture of patient safety, dignity, and respect throughout all aspects of care delivery within the healthcare setting.
  • Native or fluent English language proficiency (spoken and written) is required for effective patient communication and documentation in this healthcare role.
