About The Position

The Joint Replacement Unit is a 14-bed specialty inpatient unit within a small community hospital focused on the care of adult patients recovering from orthopedic and neurosurgical procedures. This unit admits patients undergoing knee replacements, hip replacements, total shoulder replacements, and neurosurgery spinal surgeries. Nurses on this unit provide skilled postoperative care, pain management, mobility support, patient education, and discharge preparation to help patients safely recover and regain independence. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with surgeons, therapists, providers, and an interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment dedicated to excellent surgical outcomes and patient-centered care. As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Strong assessment, postoperative care, patient education, mobility support and interdisciplinary communication skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous orthopedic, surgical, med/surg, or acute care nursing experience preferred.
