About The Position

As a Registered Nurse on the Med/Surg Observation Neuro unit, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care for patients requiring short-term monitoring and evaluation. You will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care while engaging patients and families throughout the continuum. You will monitor patient conditions closely, recognize changes, and adjust care plans as needed—collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure timely, efficient, and effective patient outcomes. You will apply evidence-based practices and participate in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and enhance patient outcomes. You will promote a culture of safety by identifying risks, intervening appropriately, and maintaining a safe care environment. You will administer medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with established clinical protocols while maintaining accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record. You will demonstrate strong communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills, supporting team-based care and appropriate delegation. You may float to other units as needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet patient care demands. You will uphold ethical standards, adhere to the ANA Code of Ethics, and contribute to a respectful, inclusive, patient-centered care environment. You will support professional development by completing required education, maintaining certifications, and seeking opportunities for growth. Requirements

  • RN license in applicable state
  • BLS required
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Typically 1+ year of clinical nursing experience preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking.
  • Ability to manage fast-paced, short-stay patient populations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Organization, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to perform frequent standing, walking, lifting, and patient handling, including assisting with transfers.
  • Must respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
  • Exposure to clinical environments requiring appropriate protective equipment.
