About The Position

Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Manager to join our Women and Infant team. This role will assist in oversight and leadership within the assigned area of responsibility. The position involves managing the overall operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities, planning and allocating resources, making financially responsible business decisions, reviewing performance data, monitoring productivity, preparing reports, and leading colleagues through performance management and development. The primary duty includes performing work that requires advanced knowledge in a field of science or learning, consistent exercise of discretion and judgment, and managing a department with regular direction of at least two employees. Supervisory authority includes hiring, transferring, suspending, laying off, recalling, promoting, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and responsibly directing or adjusting grievances. May also evaluate staff performance and professional development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required.
  • 3 years staff nurse (RN) is required.
  • Licensed in state of practice (RN) is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the management of the overall operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities and activities.
  • Plans and allocates resources to effectively staff and accomplish the work to meet productivity and quality goals.
  • Makes business decisions that are financially responsible, accountable, justifiable, and defensible in accordance with organization policies and procedures.
  • Reviews performance data that includes quality, satisfaction, engagement, and financial reports.
  • Monitors and measures productivity, goal achievement, and overall effectiveness.
  • Participates in the preparation and maintenance of reports necessary to carry out the functions of the area of responsibility.
  • Prepares periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested, to track goal accomplishment.
  • Leads colleagues using performance management and development process that provides an overall context and framework to encourage colleague contribution.
  • May evaluate performance and professional development of staff.
