Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
About The Position
NurSelect is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for a short-term contract assignment supporting a busy outpatient specialty practice and ambulatory surgery center. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses looking for a flexible contract position with the potential to extend into future assignments. These nurses will support both clinic and procedural areas, providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced outpatient environment. Candidates should be comfortable working independently, communicating with providers and patients, and utilizing EMR systems for documentation.
Requirements
- Active Pennsylvania RN or LPN License
- Current BLS Certification
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
- Strong clinical assessment and patient communication skills
- EMR experience
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced outpatient setting
Nice To Haves
- Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience
- Outpatient clinic experience
- Procedural nursing experience
- ACLS Certification
Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and care plans
- Facilitate patient care both in-person and via telephone triage
- Communicate treatment plans, lab results, imaging results, and physician instructions to patients
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered
- Assist providers with examinations and office-based procedures
- Prepare procedure rooms, instruments, supplies, and equipment
- Perform patient education and discharge teaching
- Review patient histories, medications, and diagnostic testing
- Coordinate surgical scheduling, pre-operative preparation, and required clearances
- Perform nursing procedures including: Catheterizations, Venipuncture and blood draws, Urinalysis, Medication administration, Patient assessments and monitoring
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions and report changes in condition
- Maintain accurate EMR documentation
- Follow HIPAA, infection control, and patient safety protocols
