About The Position

Inova Loudoun Hospital is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN to join their team to support patients on weekdays. This role is within a high acuity, fast-paced, multispecialty operating room that serves as Loudoun County’s first and only designated Level 2 Trauma Center. The Perioperative Services Team supports 8 state-of-the-art operating suites, two special procedure rooms, and utilizes advanced technology including the robotic-assisted daVinci® Surgical System and MAKOplasty® Total Hip and Knee. The department is staffed for emergency surgery 24/7. The facility includes 16 private Pre-Op rooms and 14 PACU bays. Surgical services offered include Trauma, General, Breast, Colon-Rectal, Gynecology, Urology, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Neurosurgery, ENT, Vascular, Thoracic, Maxillofacial, and Plastic surgery. Requirements

  • Requires a minimum of 1 year of direct Operating Room (OR) experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • BSN or ADN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
  • Must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
  • Basic Life Support with American Heart Association certification.

Responsibilities

  • Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships.
  • Formulates individualized plans of care based upon assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
  • Supports and empowers patients and families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end of life decisions.
  • Advocates for patients' rights from the patient/family perspective and provides counsel and acts as a resource to resolve issues.
  • Anticipates ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients/families and assists staff in assessing patients' learning needs.
