About The Position

The Women’s Center at Texas Health Ft. Worth, a MAGNET, and Texas 10-Step facility, has previously been named “Best Place to Have a Baby” and is a Maternal Level IV designated facility. This is a full-time night position for the Labor & Delivery Department, which features self-scheduling, a Robust Unit Based Council (UBC), and an engaged leadership team. The department includes 18-bed LDR's, 5-bay OB/ED, 5 triage rooms, and 3 OR suites, with an average of 275+ deliveries per month. The role involves caring for a wide range of patients and plans of care, including those requiring nitrous oxide, midwifery care, and high-risk interventions.

Requirements

  • Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program OR Nursing Diploma required
  • CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required)
  • RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
  • One (1) year experience as a Registered Nurse (RN), or completion of an RN residency program required.
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required within 90 days of hire
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days is required
  • NRPA-Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days Required
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required

Nice To Haves

  • BSN is preferred
  • One (1) year or more of Labor & Delivery RN experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
