The Labor & Delivery department at Frye Regional Medical Center offers a supportive and collaborative environment where nurses care for mothers and newborns across every stage of the birth experience. The unit follows AWHONN staffing guidelines to support safe, high-quality patient care while providing the opportunity to work alongside an experienced and dedicated team.

6 Labor & Delivery Rooms, 2 OR Suites, and 2 Triage Rooms

Requirements

• Current state RN license
• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• BCLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP and FHN- AWHONN required.
• At least 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
• 3 to 5 years of LDRP experience preferred.
• Trained in Mother/Baby preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
