About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery to provide comprehensive, evidence-based care to women and newborns throughout the labor, delivery, antepartum, and postpartum experience. The RN will work collaboratively with physicians, midwives, neonatal providers, surgical teams, and other healthcare professionals to provide safe, individualized, family-centered care. The ideal candidate will be comfortable caring for patients across a variety of obstetric and gynecologic needs in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state of practice.
  • Experience and clinical competency appropriate for Labor & Delivery nursing.
  • Strong knowledge of maternal and fetal assessment.
  • Ability to interpret and respond to fetal monitoring information.
  • Ability to recognize obstetric emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to patient-centered and family-centered care.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NRP
  • Current fetal monitoring competency, renewed every 2 years

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate, and individualized nursing care throughout labor and delivery.
  • Perform comprehensive maternal and fetal assessments.
  • Monitor maternal vital signs, fetal heart rate, contractions, and overall clinical status.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in maternal or fetal condition.
  • Provide care during active labor, early labor, antepartum, and postpartum periods.
  • Assist with vaginal and Cesarean deliveries.
  • Prepare patients for Cesarean sections and provide appropriate pre- and post-operative nursing care.
  • Provide immediate postpartum care to mothers and newborns.
  • Support newborn stabilization and care within the RN's scope of practice.
  • Provide patient and family education related to labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, newborn care, and discharge planning.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols and provider orders.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with obstetric providers, anesthesia professionals, neonatal teams, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Maintain a safe environment and follow infection prevention and patient safety standards.
  • Support evidence-based obstetric practices and applicable professional guidelines.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and their families throughout the childbirth experience.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain competency in required obstetric practices.

Benefits

  • $4.00/hour night shift differential
  • $3.25/hour weekend differential
  • $20,000 sign-on bonus with a 2-year commitment
