About The Position

This is a temporary position in a Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit that manages OB triage, outpatient testing, antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and nursery care. The role does not involve circulating or scrubbing in the OR. The nurse will apply the nursing process to patient care within the scope of practice defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing, teach patients and their significant others, document patient care in the medical record, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care.

Requirements

• 2 year minimum labor and delivery experience
• Current fetal heart monitoring
• BLS AHA
• NRP

Nice To Haves

• OBIX and EPIC experience
• EFM and STABLE certifications
• Certifications don’t need to be active at time of submission but must be willing to obtain
• OR license doesn't need to be active at time of submission but must be willing to obtain

Responsibilities

• Applies the nursing process to the care of patients within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
• Teaches patients, their significant others and support persons.
• Documents patient care in the medical record.
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to effectively coordinate overall care of the patient.
