This is a part-time night position for a Registered Nurse in the Labor and Delivery/Mother Baby unit. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, involving patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Key responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, collaborating with the care team, and upholding a culture of safety. The position requires continuous evaluation of patient, team, and unit outcomes, safe administration of medications and treatments, effective communication, and pursuit of professional development. Adherence to ethical practices, appropriate delegation, and accurate EHR documentation are essential. The role may require floating to other units and demonstrating age-specific care knowledge. The nurse must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, including understanding growth and development over the life span and assessing data reflective of patient status.
