About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Interventional Radiology will be rotated through prep/recovery and procedures. The role involves administering moderate sedation to patients undergoing minimally invasive procedures. Interventional radiology procedures include a wide range of interventions such as biopsies, angiograms, angioplasties, catheter placements, and more. The department is equipped with eight holding outpatient beds, one treatment room, and two angio rooms. The RN is responsible for assessing, implementing, delegating, planning, and evaluating total nursing care in accordance with the established philosophy, providing and directing patient care. Effective communication with other shifts and departments is essential for optimal continuity of care.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Valid Texas RN License/Eligible Compact License
  • Must maintain a current BLS certification from American Heart Association
  • Current American Heart Association ACLS required
  • BSN required or must be obtained within three years of hire
  • Must have 2 years of acute care experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Critical care or emergency center experience preferred
  • Current CRN or certification in field preferred
