About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) / PCU Step-Down for a 13-week day-shift contract in Rockford, Illinois. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to intermediate-care and step-down patients while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members. The position requires strong clinical assessment, medication administration, care planning, patient safety, and documentation skills. The schedule consists of 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM with holiday coverage required.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 Years of Registered Nurse Experience Required; Intermediate Care, PCU, or Step-Down Experience Required.
• Current, Active Illinois Registered Nurse License Required.
• Current BLS/CPR Certification Required.
• Current ACLS and NIHSS Certifications Required.
• Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program Required; Education Verification Required.

Nice To Haves

• This contract opportunity is suited for an experienced IMC/PCU RN comfortable caring for higher-acuity patients on 12-hour day shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care using the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to established nursing standards, policies, procedures, and applicable practice requirements.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient plans of care, including patient and family education.
• Monitor patient conditions, apply critical thinking to patient safety, and appropriately escalate changes or clinical concerns.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and participate in unit or departmental performance improvement activities.
