About The Position

Registered Nurses in the Intensive Care Unit are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care delivery. This includes assessing the patient's physical and psychosocial status in a comprehensive manner, utilizing age-specific data. Nurses demonstrate accurate assessment skills appropriate to the patient's age and perform ongoing assessments, completing required documentation within organizational standards. They also perform and document observations, physical examinations, laboratory/test results, and patient responses to procedural interventions. Participation in identifying and clarifying patient needs through multidisciplinary care planning is essential for achieving optimal patient outcomes. Additionally, nurses assist other staff in patient care delivery and incorporate patient teaching and discharge planning to promote optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Experience
  • Candidates Permanent Address (Facility will not consider local candidates - 50-mile radius restriction)
  • ACLS (AHA) - required within 30 days of start.
  • Work history
  • Skills Checklist, current to 1 year, pertinent to the speciality (Intensive Care Unit)
  • 2 Supervisory Reference Forms Completed with dates employed listed
  • Nursys must state Active Illinois/IL License
  • Active American Heart Association BLS
  • Active American Heart Association ACLS

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, utilizing age-specific data, the patient’s physical, and psychosocial, status in a comprehensive manner
  • Demonstrates accurate assessment skills, appropriate to the age of the patient
  • Performs ongoing assessments and completes required documentation within organizational standards
  • Performs and documents including observation, physical examination, laboratory/test results, and patient response to procedural intervention

  • Assists other staff in the delivery of patient care, as appropriate
