The best career is right here. St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Inpatient Wound Care Nurse position located at the Edgewood, Kentucky location. Hours & Shift: Full-time, 32 hours weekly; 1st Shift. The best career is right here. Responsible for providing consultation and coordination of the care of patients requiring wound care assessment, management and treatment (Involves skin, wounds, ostomies, pressure sores, incontinence and other wound care arenas). Collaborates with nursing staff, medical staff and other health care providers in establishing and executing policies, procedures, and standards of care for wound care management patients.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • If eligible, must have a Compact (multi-state) License in their primary state of residence.
  • Licensed to practice nursing in the state where work is being performed.
  • BSN or currently enrolled in BSN program.
  • Meets contact hour requirements for licensure, including all state-required courses.
  • Basic knowledge in current skin, ostomy and wound care practices.
  • Understanding of the organizational structures of the hospital, its policies and practices.
  • Able to be self-directed and highly motivated.
  • Minimum requirements of 3 years current clinical experience in an acute care facility.
  • Prior experience in skin, ostomy and would care clinical practice/management.

Nice To Haves

  • MSN
  • Certification as a wound, ostomy, continence nurse (WOCN).
  • Graduate of Enterostomal Nursing Education Program.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in skin, ostomy and wound therapy and practices.
  • Ability to interface wound care management into daily practices by staff.
  • Current experience as a wound care nurse or enterostomal therapist.
