Plans and delivers professional nursing care to patients. This role involves providing care under the direction of a physician, mentoring and training new staff and students, and performing acts within the scope of practice defined by the applicable licensing board. The position requires demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care according to unit/department competencies, policies, and procedures. Key responsibilities include evaluating patient needs, maintaining comprehensive care plans, promoting patient independence through goal setting and family involvement, administering medications accurately, educating patients and families about care, disease processes, and self-care, completing documentation, observing and reporting changes in patient condition, acting in accordance with the organization's mission, vision, and values, and adhering to privacy and security regulations regarding Protected Health Information (PHI). Effective communication and professional working relationships with all stakeholders are essential.
