About The Position

This is a 90% FTE position with 8/12 hour evening/night shifts and a one in three weekend and holiday rotation. The role is located at East Madison Hospital in Madison, WI, which is the newest and one of the most advanced hospitals and wellness centers in the country. The Medical and Surgical 3rd floor Inpatient unit is a fast-paced, 27-bed unit within a Magnet designated hospital, equipped with the latest state-of-the-art technology and equipment. The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a professional environment that values collaboration, respect, and diversity. The role involves caring for general care, select IMC, and Med/Surg Short Stay patients with a wide variety of medical and surgical diagnoses. The position emphasizes working in a collaborative environment with a strong interdisciplinary team, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and managing patients post-operatively with expert discharge planning.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Inpatient Units: Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health’s Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit.
  • Relevant RN Experience
  • Relevant Certification
