Registered Nurse (RN) Inpatient Med/Surg unit - Full Time Nights
About The Position
This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Inpatient Med/Surg unit at Texas Health Dallas. The role is full-time, working nights for 36 hours per week, from 7 PM to 7 AM. The Med/Surg Department offers self-scheduling for work-life balance, opportunities for educational and career growth, a robust Unit Based Council (UBC), and engaged leadership with an emphasis on shared governance. It is a fast-paced, high-volume department providing many learning opportunities. The professional nurse is expected to understand basic human needs and recognize and understand the patient’s affiliations.
Requirements
- Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program Or Diploma Nurse Program
- One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Req
- RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care

Responsibilities
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age-specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant other’s need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out-of-hospital transfers.
