About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Inpatient Med/Surg unit at Texas Health Dallas is responsible for delivering care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process. This includes assessing the patient, planning care, intervening as appropriate, and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions. The role also involves incorporating age-specific safety and infection control measures, initiating actions to meet patient and/or significant other's need for information, and maintaining continuity of patient care across shifts, between hospitals, and during transfers. The department offers self-scheduling for work/life balance, opportunities for educational and career growth, a robust Unit Based Council (UBC), and engaged leadership with an emphasis on shared governance. It is a fast-paced, high-volume department providing numerous learning opportunities.

Requirements

Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program Or Diploma Nurse Program
One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support
ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support
CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Req
RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care
